Colville is a fast growing locally-owned Alaskan company providing arctic logistics services for over 60-years. Today, Colville Holding is the parent company of Colville, Colville Transport, and Brooks Range Supply. Together these entities provide essential supplies and services across the entire North Slope Arctic Region, including the supply and delivery of fuel, solid waste management services, industrial supplies, hardware, parts, tools, contract services, and general store supplies.

Colville is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their Human Resources team. Working under the Chief People Officer and the HR Manager, you will be responsible for streamlining the recruiting and onboarding process to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring cycle. This role will handle the ins and outs of hiring, recruiting, and project management from Job Post to Date of Hire for all candidates. Colville has doubled in size within the last seven months and continues to grow, nearly over 250 Headcount. Working as a T&A Specialist you will manage all aspects of job post management (requisitions), candidate interview selection, progression and screening, to the final steps of onboarding new hires.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 1. HR Systems Management
  • · Operate vendor systems for recruitment and onboarding.
  • · Manage ADP requisition, including job postings and new hire pre-testing.
  • · Coordinate background checks, FMCSA NSTC, and medical screenings with appropriate vendors.
  • · Coordinate with out-of-state TPAs as needed.
  • 2. Recruitment and Selection
  • · Develop and execute hiring strategies.
  • · Manage communications with candidates and hiring managers.
  • · Draft and post job advertisements on internal and external portals.
  • · Screen and review candidates, manage interviews, and attend sessions with hiring managers.
  • · Make recruiting recommendations and manage candidate disposition and communication throughout the hiring process.
  • 3. Offer Letter Management
  • · Kick-off and manage the approval of offer letters.
  • · Send offer letters to candidates and follow up within designated timeframes.
  • · Distribute acceptance notifications and manage transition from offer acceptance to onboarding.
  • 4. Onboarding Process
  • · Implement onboarding strategies and maintain onboarding records.
  • · Manage communications and updates regarding candidate progress.
  • · Coordinate with external hiring vendors, including scheduling and managing pre-hire testing and training.
  • · Manage HR systems to initiate onboarding in ADP and maintain HR records.
  • 5. Benefits Administration
  • · Manage new hire enrollments and communications related to benefits.
  • · Support vendor file feeds as necessary.
  • · Communicate 401k plan information to new hires.
    6. HR Administration · Serve as the main contact for recruiting within the company.
  • · Manage all documentation from job posting to the first day of the new hire.
  • · Conduct new hire file audits and manage ADP reporting for onboarding and vendor invoices.
  • 7. Payroll Preparation - Collect and review new hire information for data entry, ACH Direct Deposit setup, and new hire profiles in HRIS system.
    Qualifications:
  • · Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • · Proven experience in talent acquisition and HR operations may make up for lack of degree (5 years).
  • · Strong knowledge of HR systems, preferably ADP.
  • · Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • · Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Colville started in the 1950s, first as pioneer bush pilot Bud Helmericks’ Arctic Tern Fish & Freight Co. Bud established a flourishing commercial fishing operation, became a renowned big-game guide (Alaskan Master Guide No. 4), and continued his adventures as one of the first Alaska Bush pilots. Becoming known for his Arctic knowledge and experience, Bud became a consultant for Eastman Kodak, Eddie Bauer and other companies working in cold regions.
