RoleOverview

DevHub running on Backstage framework provides a one-stop shop for DevOps Engineers to easily discover and view all applications across their organization, simplifying the process of exploration, monitoring and managing applications from a single pane of glass.

The team of frontend developers working on the DevHub portal are a diverse group of professionals. They have a strong background in React, TypeScript, and other full stack technologies. They are passionate about delivering best in class features for the portal and are committed to leveraging the latest technologies to make the portal more efficient and user friendly.

Co-opresponsibilitiesincludebutare not limitedto:

  • Work with fellow DevOps Engineers to build and maintain our production tools to ensure ongoing reliability while maximizing development team efficiency.

  • Fix and debug infrastructure, network, and operating system issues related to our services portfolio.

  • Build and maintain operations software which automates the configuration, provisioning, deployment and monitoring of our core systems.

  • Assists in the development of solution architecture (both tactical and strategic) to fully run/support enterprise needs, services, systems and technology management.

  • Provides research and assistance to leadership in the development and design of new projects. 

  • Uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, risks, and changes. 

  • Manages project status and information in the form of formal briefings, project update meetings, and written, electronic, and graphic reports.

  • Develops, maintains, and manages detailed project plans, action item registers, and major milestone timelines for all assigned projects. Provides overall prioritization and director of work assignments, team resources, etc.

  • Coordinates with other work streams, projects, and initiatives which may impact successful completion of project.

  • Manages all assigned projects to completion ensuring on-time delivery, meeting of budgetary demands, and maintaining overall project ownership. 

  • Acts as a single point of contact for project status. Maintains communication with stakeholders.

  • Facilitates project meetings. 

  • Addresses problems through risk management and contingency planning and presents solutions and/or options to executive management. Ensures effective implementation of solutions/changes. 

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Preferred Majors: Computer Sciences / Engineering / IT

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, withacooperative learningtrack.

  • Availableto work40hours per weekfor 6 months startingSeptember 23, 2024 through March 28, 2025.

  • Available to report in-person to the work location provided above.

  • 3.0minimumcumulativeGPApreferred.

Compensation

Base Pay: $32.00

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
