entertainment industries. They work with their clients to craft integrated brand campaigns, strategy, and
execute content that drives engagement, sales, and brand loyalty. The work is artistic and conceptual,
integrated with technology and great storytelling.
The Assistant Editor role is part-time/freelance and will work at the crossroads where creative meets
Post-Production operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all editors’ projects operate in an organized fashion.
- Ingest and track media for the creative team, editors, and production team.
- Transcribe footage when necessary.
- Sync footage when necessary.
- At times, the Assistant Editor may assist the editor in organizing selects.
- Ensure updated footage is properly overcut across all editor projects.
- Ensure the integrity of client postings is maintained.
- Flag edit changes to the relevant team members
- Prepping locked sequences for color, beauty finishing, and audio mix
- Depending on the project, the Assistant Editor will be handing off offline sequences to the
- Handle final conform and delivery of assets to the client.
- 2-3 years as an Assistant Editor. Experience in high-volume trailer houses is a plus.
- Good understanding of file-based HD workflows between editorial and color/Resolve, editorial
between editing & design environments is necessary.
- Familiarity with various HD camera formats & associated transcoding workflow. (RED, Alexa,
- Proficiency with compression codecs.
- Strong understanding of finishing workflows and how to neatly prep offline edits for a Finishing
- Deep understanding of quality control protocols regarding final deliverables.
- Technical know-how for on-the-fly equipment/software fixes to keep the train moving.
- Ability to convert media to editable formats and correct frame rates.
- Familiarity with Mac OS, Windows 10, FTP clients, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Very good organizational and project management skills required.
- Sharp attention to detail and able to flag issues/changes to the relevant team members.
- Ability to think independently and suggest/create workflows & systems to producers, editors &
- A general interest in gaming and pop culture
