Command Holdings is Hiring a Joint SOF Trainer (Operations & Planning) IV (Aviation) Near Tampa, FL

WWC Federal, an operating firm of Command Holdings, is seeking a Joint SOF Trainer (Ops/Plans) IV. The Joint SOF Trainer (Ops/Plans) IV assists Combatant Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands, SOF Service Components, and joint Special Operations Forces (SOF) Headquarters in the planning, coordination, and execution of functional and joint collective training that focuses at the operational and strategic levels of war. The trainers support to joint headquarters includes individual, staff, and unit collective training, academic events, senior leader seminars, planning exercises, tabletop exercises, and functional area workshops. This support culminates in the execution of joint mission rehearsals, command post exercises, and other collective training events that supports various Joint Staff and Combatant Command contingency plans and the USSOCOM 350-12 certification and validation program.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise and strategic and operational-level joint training primarily in the area of Operations and Plans. Perform in-depth research, analysis, and training to support the Combatant Commands, Theater Special Operations Commands, SOF Service Components, and joint SOF Task Force Commanders’ readiness and exercise programs.

  • Serve as Analyst/Trainer (A/T) for operational level planning and Command and Control (C2).
  • Train and mentor joint and multinational battle staffs in operational level planning and Command and Control (C2), to include translation of national and theater strategic objectives into unified action and understanding the roles, relationships, interests, and equities of Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCCs), participating interagency partners and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in planning, designing, executing, controlling & analyzing joint SOF training & exercises.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on deliberate planning, crisis action planning, and C2 in the special operations arena, in support of named operations, and Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO).
  • Develop observation and training plans.
  • Provide analysis and preparation of after action reviews and reports, to include collecting, analyzing and reporting lessons learned.
  • Mentor and train commanders and staffs of Geographic Combatant Commanders (GCCs), Joint Task Forces (JTFs), Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), Special Operations Joint Task Forces (SOJTFs), Joint Special Operations Task Forces (JSOTFs), and Special Operations Commands-Forward(SOC-FWD).
  • Mentor and train assigned personnel on operational level planning and C2.
  • Assist in developing scenarios, injects, and master scenario events lists (MSELs) for practical, table top, and vignette type training events and venues.
  • Must also support contingency operations as required.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in confined areas.
  • Ability to work in remote and rural environments.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle in environments including city, highway, and rural roads CONUS and OCONUS.

Travel:

  • 21-49% / Regular Travel.
  • This position may require travel to remote overseas locations for extended periods of time.
