COMMERCIAL JET is Hiring an AIRCRAFT MAINT TECH LEAD Near Miami, FL

Reportingto the Project Manager, the Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing,directing and orienting Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to execute their workin accordance to task requirements and in line with the Company Repair Stationprocedures and requirements, ensuring compliance to FAA/EASA regulations and inline with OEM MPDs, and in so doing delivering efficient high quality work withsafety being their uncompromising priority.

  • Ensure the highest quality service, safetystandards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customersatisfaction in the re-delivery of airworthy, reliable and clean aircraft, in atimely manner.
  • Direct and supervise assigned Technicians(A&P Mechanics, Sheetmetal Mechanics, Avionic Technicians, Outside Servicespersonnel), guiding and advising technical activity in accordance with the TaskCard/MPD, Repair Station Manual and FAA regulations.
  • Provide leadership and direction, coach andmentor technicians to consistently deliver excellence in their job execution asindividuals and team players, ensuring high quality and efficient workmanshipfor on-time re-delivery of aircraft.
  • Secure commitment and accountability at alllevels in execution of both work and accurate supporting documentation.
  • Ensure work schedule is in line with establishedproject plan for each aircraft to be serviced in accordance with the Workscopeand respective timeline.
  • Schedule work shift personnel necessary toaccomplish the assigned workscope in line with Project Manager’s plan.
  • Assist Project Manager in elaborating detailedShift Handover instructions and Work Interruption logs.
  • Supervise and monitor Man Hour utilization incollaboration with Production Planning and Control. Make sure that all laborand materials used are allocated to the proper work order and item number.
  • Work closely with Inspectors in order to preventtime wastage due to unnecessary delays, interruptions and duplicate work.
  • Report to Project Manager any parts requirementsand always carry out Purchase Order requests and Parts Consumption inaccordance with Company procedures and documentation requirements includingsign-offs.
  • Support the Project Manager in making sure that allMaintenance Personnel are qualified to accomplish the duties assigned to them.
  • Verify that tool required by Technicians areavailable and if not to work with Stores to provision them prior to commencingthe tasks.
  • Oversee Technicians to ensure the work area andhangar is kept to the highest standards of safety, compliant at all times,enforcing regulations and practices to avoid accidents. Strictly enforce goodhousekeeping practices at all times with an objective of securing anenvironment conducive to employee well-being.
  • Report any incident immediately to QualityAssurance & Safety in accordance with Company policies and procedures.Scrutinize the proper tagging of Aircraft components, parts and panelsappropriately stored (including racks by aircraft).
  • Demand and accomplish document procedures andsign-offs in accordance with Repair Station Manual and respective tasks.
  • Strive for continuous process improvements andincreasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority.
  • Maintain close and frequent communication withtheProject Manager, notifying him/her of progress and any road-blocks or threats tothe project’s critical path that could impact re-delivery.
  • Review daily personnel performance and progresson aircraft to determine if any alteration to the plan and schedule isnecessary and to ensure that tasks are completed within budgeted time.
  • Collaborate with the Director Quality &Safety and his Training Specialist to establish On-The-Job Training Programs(OJT) for maintenance personnel and coordinate participation in trainingprograms as appropriate. Participate in relevant development training includingGeneral Familiarization Certification.
  • Request regular progress meetings with ProjectManager and all relevant department heads and personnel concerning operationalrequirements and activities, clearly establishing objectives and actions.
  • Deal with Customers in a cordial, respectful andprofessional manner, and to see to it that all personnel behave accordingly.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are correctlyused and handled by Technicians for both safety and to reduce breakages, wearand tear. Require Technicians to report any tool malfunction promptly to theStores with supporting documentation as per the Company’s processes.
  • Support the Project Manager with other businessactivities as needed.
  • To lead by example at all times; throughprofessional behavior, integrity, commitment to the company and compliance withits policies.
  • The number of Technicians a Lead will manage dependson the Workscope and Project Manager’s plan. Personnel to be managed includesub-contractors.
  • One of the key challenges for the Leads is thatof ensuring Technicians execute their task efficiently and within the budgetedtime while consistently maintaining a high safety standard. Also important isto ensure that all documentation is completed and signed-off accurately andwith integrity in a timely manner.

EDUCATION:High School Diploma/GED. Holds a currentmechanic certificate with Airframe Rating, and has held this ratings for atleast 3 years.

EXPERIENCE:At least 3 years of diversified maintenanceexperience on large aircraft with an Air Carrier, Commercial Operator orCertified Repair Station, and must have acted as an A&P Mechanic.

  • Excellentwritten and oral communication skills in order to effectivelyinteract with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solvingskills in order to prioritize workload according to business demands and workswell under pressure.
