About This Role

Every position at Common Citizen from seed to sale, is contributing to our mission to serve our fellow citizens of Michigan with the highest quality, safest cannabis product through our highly individualized and education-oriented provisioning centers.

Reporting to the Safety & Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician will be responsible with assisting the team for smooth operations of our plant/greenhouse at the Marshall facility. In this role, your responsibilities will encompass assisting with operational efficiency, work order completion, control systems & preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Follow company safety policy by setting the example for others to follow.
  • Become proficient at a variety of maintenance tasks, including fault isolation and repair of electrical, plumbing, and other automated systems and sub-systems at Citizen Quarters, the Greenhouse, Post-Harvest, Retail stores, and an outdoor grow facility.
  • Integrate and collaborate with the team to maximize uptime on all equipment.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Support Total Production Maintenance (TPM) activities.
  • Document maintenance activities within our computerized maintenance management system (known as UpKeep), including labor and parts utilized on work orders.
  • Perform training activities based on company policy.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to improve processes, particularly within maintenance.
  • Support and adhere to good manufacturing and good agricultural practices.
  • Be part of the on-call rotation to assist with after-hours support.
  • Perform other safe duties, as prescribed by leadership.

The Experience You Bring and the Skills We Need:

  • Experience with aerospace, automotive, facilities, equipment, or residential maintenance.
  • Willing to learn and improve maintenance processes.
  • Willing to accept feedback on performance and improve.
  • Basic computer skills to support UpKeep.
  • Able to work autonomously with little to no supervision.
  • Greenhouse and or agricultural experience preferred.
  • Able to solve simple mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic problems.
  • Good communication skills

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a greenhouse environment (tolerance of heat & humidity)
