Summer Camp Counselors at the Summer of Arts and Sports Camp at Commonpoint Queens’ Central Queens location in Forest Hills will work with children ages 5 to 11 years old.

Counselors need to be caring role-models to the children and will be assisting specialists with activities for the children.

They will assist in daily activities such as sports, swimming, arts and education. Counselors will perform tasks that will help the children have a positive overall summer camp experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Be on time and stay until your daily responsibilities are completed.
• Be patient with the children.
• Show Initiative.
• Make sure the children have a fun and safe experience.
• Help serve lunch on a daily basis to campers.
• Work and communicate cohesively with other counselors in your group.
• Be responsible and alert when attending weekly trips with campers.
• Be fully aware of camper allergies and any required medications.
• Engage with campers to ensure they have a positive experience.

POTENTIAL DAYS AND TIMES :

Summer of Arts and Sports Camp runs Mondays through Fridays 8 : 30 AM - 4 : 30 PM with potential for early arrival and late stay hours at additional compensation.

Salary : Base salary ranges from $1,800 to $2,700 depending on school grade and experience with additional compensation opportunities.

RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS :

• Prior experience working with children.
