Responsibilities:

Performs duties in alignment with the mission vision and values of the organization. Supports and is compliant with the hospital's performance improvement plan Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations; and The Joint Commission IMQ Title 22 and other licensing accrediting and regulatory agencies. Performs Medical Staff Office functions which includes but is not limited to credentialing meeting management and the Continuing Medical Education program. Responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the Medical Staff committee structure Medical Staff leadership Director of the Medical Staff Office and Director's supervisor. Provides other assistance as requested.

The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the organization as it pertains to our vision. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Organization. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support the Organization's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of one year's experience in medical staff services or three years in an administrative assistant position.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical training some college desirable including course in medical terminology.

Pereffered Experience:

  • College degree is desirable including course in medical terminology.
  • CMSC and/or CPCS certification is desirable.

Skills:

  • Typing skill of 60 wpm minimum required.
  • Excellent computer skills including use of the internet for primary source verification(credentialing).
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills.
  • Ability to handle Medical Staff issues that are confidential sensitive and controversial.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Training:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Power Point Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Title 22 regulations and The Joint Commission and IMQ accreditation standards is desirable.
