Commonwealth Electric Company of the Midwest is Hiring a Low Voltage Technician Near Columbus, NE

Position Summary:

Low voltage technicians install electrical systems such as fire alarms, security systems, surveillance equipment, and audiovisual or multimedia equipment.

Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform comprehensive, onsite equipment installation for our clients including but not limited to low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack build and integration
  • Diagnostic maintenance of systems and equipment according to contract and customer needs
  • Identify active voice or data circuits
  • Install, pull, terminate, repair and replace low voltage cables
  • Exemplify, promote and foster our purpose of Committed to Excellence through our Core Values of Customers, Employees, Character and Mastery
  • All other duties as assigned and required

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of electrical construction
  • Must be able to read blueprints to determine how to best install the components and wiring
  • Advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft Windows Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
  • Functional understanding of Low Voltage systems
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and hard working
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field
