Description
The Radcliff Veteran Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to Serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. The Facility Maintenance Worker II position is responsible for performing general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds and associated equipment. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assists the supervisor in the maintenance of buildings, grounds and equipment
Performs the duties of maintaining and repairing plumbing and sewerage systems, electrical systems and associated equipment
Makes carpentry repairs to buildings, paints surfaces and operates machinery and equipment
Performs other duties as assigned

This position, in org unit 10202459, Hardin county has an approved Locality Premium of $2.67 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1).
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: NONE
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of building maintenance, grounds maintenance, general trades, skilled trades, moving services, or mechanical maintenance experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
Incumbents in this job title may be exposed to extreme temperatures which requires the following of safety procedures. Must follow safety procedures, such as utilization of eye and ear protection, when utilizing certain mechanical equipment.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
