Job Duties

Western State Hospital is seeking a full time Weekend Programming Rehab Associate who will assist in the developing and implementing therapeutic interventions within in the psychosocial treatment program; represent Rehab Services on a unit; and provide weekend programming to admissions units; plan and conduct 20 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation interventions per week, according to the approved schedules; interact with clients according to TO guidelines, function as a Rehab representative on assigned units and attend treatment team meetings to provide progress reports, and complete assessment/reassessment for the clinical process according to the department time frames.
The Weekend Programming Rehab Associate will also plan, organize, and implement programs for weekend-on-unit/off-unit program; assist with Open Leisure Programming as requested; maintain an approved schedule to ensure fulfillment of all work requirements including filling out leave slips with coverage; review weekend activity planning for on-unit modalities; and document client's participation for weekend programming into HOPS.

Minimum Qualifications

- high school diploma or equivalent
- considerable knowledge of psychiatric disabilities, personality development and behaviors, and recreational and activity programs
- knowledge of various modalities such as fitness, sorts, wellness, social skills, music and arts/crafts
- knowledge of recovery-focused treatment
- ability to communicate clearly and work independently and in a team setting with diverse population and experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
- computer skills, including Microsoft Office, electronic medical records databases, and documentation programs
- ability to plan and facilitate structured group activities
- ability to manage clients in challenging social situations
- ability to walk repetitively, sit and/or stand as part of routine work, visual acuity to observe and report changes in client's behaviors on a continuous basis; ability to bend, lift, and reach overhead to position, restrain, transfer, transport, or escort patients, and to assist patients to perform activities
