If so, the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) wants you to join our team as a Wildlife Technician in our black bear program in the Northcentral Region. As a Wildlife Technician, you will be providing field support for the implementation of Bureau of Wildlife Management (BWM) and Region programs. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a fully functional wildlife management team with shared BWM program support among wildlife management supervisor, wildlife biologist 1, wildlife technician, bio-aide, and intern positions to achieve the Agency's goals and objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for performing professional wildlife management duties including capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring birds and mammals with a focus on black bears. Work may also include wildlife population monitoring, wildlife response to habitat management, and wildlife health monitoring. You will be tasked with ensuring projects and surveys follow established guidelines and meet expected deadlines.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
