Accounting Assistant / Clinical Reimbursement

CommuniCare Health Services is a fast-growing provider of long term care with over 100 facilities located in 7 states. CommuniCare is dedicated to our goal of creating Caring Communities where staff, residents and families join hands to overcome their daily challenges. Due to continued growth, we are looking to fill the position of Accounting Assistant for our Clinical Reimbursement department.

This position can be fully remote.

Pay Range: $55k-65k/annually

Purpose/belief statement

Clinical Reimbursement support is an important function within the organization. The Assistant Clinical Reimbursement Accountant assists the Clinical Reimbursement Analyst by analyzing data, developing, and distributing necessary reports to the Clinical Reimbursement team for all facilities while ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This position serves as a key member of the Clinical Reimbursement Department.

Job duties & responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring timely review and distribution of Reimbursement Reports
  • Provide insight related to a report metric being monitored
  • Review and monitor weekly metrics related to multiple states’ Medicare and Medicaid revenue
  • Become familiar with the reimbursement models for both Medicare and Medicaid for multiple states
  • Develop industry reimbursement knowledge and skills
  • Assist department management
  • Other reimbursement projects and functions as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or similar field
  • Healthcare environment experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Must have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Excellent Excel skills are required
  • Superior organizational skills, strong task management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Also important are excellent interpersonal and communication skills with both internal and external customers, and the ability to work in a team oriented environment
  • A positive attitude, with a high degree of ethics and personal integrity, as well as confidentiality, are traits needed to be successful in this role.
