Who we want:

Communities In Schools of Central Texas is hiring a qualified Employee Wellness Coordinator designs and implements employee health and wellbeingprograms and policies to build a positive and appealing organizational culture. The Coordinator partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings and information resources.

The Employee Wellness Coordinator is also responsible for performing a range of additional duties supporting overall Human Resources Department operations and goals. The HR Specialist is responsible for human resources functions including employee benefits administration, HRIS database and personnel records management, and payroll support.

What we offer: 

CIS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The starting salary range for this position is $20/hour. Salaries are determined by qualifications and relevant experience. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and midpoint depending on experience and in alignment with internal equity.

What you’ll bring:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in employee wellness program development and/or administration
  • Five or more years of experience in general human resources including benefits administration
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and professional presentation
  • High level of initiative, follow through and personal accountability
  • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse workforce at all levels with respect
  • Demonstrated experience meeting deadlines and performing effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic non-profit environment
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and virtual communication tools including MS Teams and Zoom
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, personnel management, business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

What you’ll do:

  • Lead a comprehensive wellness program
  • Coordinate, plan, and facilitate health and fitness activities and programs for employees
  • Plan and implement classes, speakers, seminars, personal training, and fitness assessments that promote healthy lifestyles
  • Partner with the Communications Dept. to develop promotion and publicity plans for wellness and fitness programs throughout the organization
  • Compile statistical summaries of participant data, class attendance, and equipment inventories to ensure proper detailed program evaluation
  • Provide educational presentations and training programs
  • Collect and analyze information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or input sessions
  • Partner with CHRO to develop and implement competitive and cost effective benefit plans in response to employee needs
  • Administer group insurance plans and other employee benefits including orientation to the plans, enrollments/changes/terminations, and general problem-solving
  • Serve as HRIS administrator, maintain and update employee data including new employee information, status changes, salary increases, benefits and payroll information
  • Communicate with employees regarding personnel documentation, timesheets, leave balances, and other paperwork issues
  • Maintain employee information, including personnel files and insurance forms, in compliance with federal and state laws and specific contract requirements
  • Perform e-verification, criminal background checks and submit new employee information in compliance with federal and state laws and specific contract requirements
  • Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records, and work in conjunction with the Finance Dep. to produce each payroll
  • Assist in the development of budget, policies, and procedures relevant to the operation of the wellness program and other employee benefits programs
  • Participate in the CIS team approach to problem solving
  • Promote and maintain agency culture, standards, and systems
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the CHRO
