Job Title: MOA Front Office
Reports To: Operations Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Status: Full-time
OVERVIEW:
The MOA Front Office will assist the practice in providing the highest quality patient care consistent with Community Access Networks vision of improving health through clinical excellence and compassion. The MOAs Front Office will rotate between check in, check out and call center providing support in all areas of the front office operations including registration, check out, entering new patients, incoming and outgoing calls, assisting patients with sliding fee scale paperwork, etc.
RESPONSIBILITES:
· Welcome all patients that enter the health center with a smile
· Opening and closing the building at the start and end of every shift as needed.
· Provides high level support to the medical office, including answering phones, directing calls, taking and forwarding messages as appropriate.
· Assists patient with all aspects of the medical office registration and check out process, including collecting copayments, verifying insurance, entering information into electronic medical record, to ensure 100% patient satisfaction.
· Assist patients with the Community Access Network sliding fee scale application and collect necessary documents needed to qualify when needed.
· Assist patients with applying for Medicaid coverage.
· Connect patients with Hill City Pharmacy for medication needs.
· Clear daily MOA front desk buckets – actions, telephone encounters, web and portal.
· Schedule appointments.
· Maintaining confidential electronic health records.
· Maintain accurate provider schedules.
· Provides sandwiches and blankets to patients upon request.
· Connects patients with Community Health Works for Shower and Laundry Services.
· Other duties as assigned
NECESSARY SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Reacts well under pressure
· Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
· Strong customer service focus
· Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations
· Ability to show patience, compassion & empathy to patients
· Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences.
· Criminal background check and clearance
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.
· Organization and time management skills.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
· Post-secondary education strongly preferred
· Experience in healthcare required.
· Medical Office w/ EMR: 2 years (Required)
· Strong work tenure: three to five years of experience in a front desk/registration role
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat
