Community Action Marin is Hiring a Revenue Budget Analyst Near San Rafael, CA

Job Summary: As a key member of the finance team, the Revenue Budget Analyst will work closely with the Controller to maximize agency revenue through ongoing monitoring of grant terms and related compliance, billing and indirect overhead allocations. This role will develop and monitor resource allocations to maximize the value allocated by program while ensuring adherence within the agency budget. The Revenue Budget Analyst must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment, thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace, and bring adaptive analytical skills to the agency and Finance Team.

Revenue Analysis

  • Analyze new and existing grant contracts to ensure revenue maximization through appropriate tracking of activity.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure actual activity is tracking in line with grant proposal.
  • Ensure the indirect allocation calculations reasonably reflect the cost of the resources allocated
  • Develop reporting mechanism for current and projected revenue and expense by grant.

Budget Analysis

  • Monitor adherence to budgeted expenses and report monthly variances by grant or fund
  • Assist in preparation of the annual agency budget
  • Analyzing trends and patterns, recommend strategies to increase agency efficiency and reduce costs

Accounting & Compliance

  • General Ledger reconfiguration and ongoing maintenance – assist in implementing fund accounting configuration and ongoing maintenance thereof.
  • Fixed asset – Track additions and deletions - keep records up to date.
  • Bank reconciliations – Complete bank reconciliations monthly
  • Balance sheet account reconciliations – as assigned
  • Mental health Flexfunds – verify that Flexfunds are coded correctly
  • Other duties as assigned
  • A minimum of a BA in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration.
  • At least three years (3) years’ financial experience, preferably with experience in a non-profit with a budget of at least $10 million and/or a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience collaborating with program staff, to communicate financial trends and develop strategies to address.
  • Experience in or knowledge of nonprofit fiscal management and government contracts.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team orientation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and contractors at all levels.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • An innovative and initiative-oriented mindset that values teamwork and reaching goals.
  • High proficiency with common accounting software and Excel.
  • A strong commitment to social justice, equity and the agency’s mission to provide high-quality programs to serve low-income individuals and families.
