Position Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and submitting agency financial reports, processing employee benefits, and maintaining accurate agency accounting records along with other accounting duties for a non-profit organization.

Responsibilities:

• Complete and provide monthly reports to funding sources.
• Monitor budgets for various programs.
• Oversee employee benefit deductions and payments to benefit providers. 
• Monitor and accrue staff benefits in compliance with agency policies.
• Maintain accurate agency accounting records in compliance with agency accounting policies.
• Review program budgets for accuracy and compliance with funding requirements.
• Assist with agency audit and program monitoring.
• Reconcile vendor statements.
• Maintain a high degree of communication and coordination with the CFO, Administration staff and other Agency staff, always working toward the best interest of the Agency, clients and staff. 

Education Requirements:

Four year degree in accounting or finance is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

Required Skills:

• Must possess good mathematical and analytical skills.
• Experience with computer software applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. 
• Attention to detail, ability to multi-task and good time management skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with agency staff and the public.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must keep all agency matters confidential.

Schedule/Hours: This position is full time at 40 hours per week. Scheduled hours are normally Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Pay Rate: Starting wage is $19.25 an hour. Additional pay may be considered for individuals with extensive accounting experience.
