Community Care Plan is Hiring a Child Care Assistant - Community Resource Center Near Lauderdale, FL

**MUST BE WILLING TO PHYSICALLY WORK IN LAUDERDALE LAKES, FL 33311**

Position Summary:

The Child Care Assistant will be responsible for providing childcare supervision in our brick-and-mortar Community Resource Center while parents or their caregivers are engaged in other center activities. The Child Care Assistant ensures a safe experience for all children visiting the center. Position duties will be primarily performed in Lauderdale Lakes/Broward County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing care for children including feeding, changing diapers, and maintaining a clean and safe play environment.
  • Engage with children of various ages on an age-appropriate level.
  • Assist with healthy snack distribution as needed.
  • Conduct storybook sessions with children as needed.
  • Recognizes and reports any health, behavioral or emotional issues to staff and parents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • 1 year of childcare experience (3 or more is Preferred)
  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • Bilingual Preferred (English, Spanish and/or Creole)

  • Caring and professional personality
  • Demonstrates an understanding of stages of childhood development
  • Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children
  • Sensitive to multi-cultural communities and a passion for serving others
  • Skilled in maintaining good rapport and collaborative working relationships with team members.

Work Schedule:

The work schedule will be determined by management this is primary a day shift, but there may be some early evenings. As we grow, there is a possibility for some Saturday shifts.

The employee may occasionally lift, carry and/or move up to 25 pounds. Driving is also required for this position. Access to a car suitable for transporting event materials will be needed.
