Technical Support Specialist
POSITION: Full-time Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
REPORT TO: Managing Director, Information Technology
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta works to inspire and lead our region toward equity and shared prosperity for all who call our region home. We do this work by providing quality services to donors and innovative leadership to grapple with the region’s most pressing challenges, seizing opportunities to use both.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Information Technology, the Technical Support Specialist will provide technical support to internal and remote users, prioritizing and escalating helpdesk requests based on how critical they are to day-to-day operations.
Essential Functions Of Position
  • Provide exceptional customer and technical support to resolve day-to-day technical issues quickly to ensure our technical business operations run smoothly.
  • Assist with installation of all new technology for the company, including computer operating systems, software programs and applications, new laptops, and other computer hardware.
  • Candidate will serve as a liaison for the managed services provider vendor by performing regular maintenance for our phone systems, servers, printers, and any other technical equipment in a Microsoft Azure environment; escalating issues as needed.
  • IT onboard new users while providing employees with information regarding access to systems, and software access levels to new employees to ensure they have everything they need to work efficiently.
  • Evaluating systems potential through assessing compatibility of new programs with existing programs.
  • Train users on new software in person or through a variety of tutorial channels, including self-guided training video, user manuals etc.
  • Assisting with company SharePoint sites and intranet.
  • Preparing reference material for users by drafting operating instructions.
  • Procure, document, and maintain technical equipment inventory.
  • Consult with users to determine appropriate hardware and software needs and assist in placing orders.
  • Confirm program objectives and specifications by testing new programs, comparing them with established standards, and making modifications.
  • Prior experience working on a helpdesk or similar technical function.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information in an accessible manner to non-technical employees.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Office 365 applications experience with an emphasis on SharePoint and Teams.
  • Microsoft Intune administration.
  • Extensive experience working with different operating systems including Windows and Mac OS.
  • Process improvement mindset.
  • Maintain and setup Audio / Video conference room equipment.
  • Familiar with an SLA environment and tracked metrics.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell or scripting is a plus
  • Associate degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Able to bend, stand, reach, climb, and lift at least 50 lbs.

The Community Foundation operates in a hybrid working environment with staff working in-office three days per week and the opportunity to work two days remote per week if in good standing.
CompensationTo be determined based upon experience and qualifications within the anticipated salary range of $60,000-$65,000. This position is exempt, and employee is eligible for the Foundation’s competitive health and benefits plan:
