Job Description
Full Time (M-F) / 4 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The Lead Phlebotomist is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and controlling the operations of specimen procurement. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: training new employees, performance evaluations, and competency/skill assessment. This position is also responsible for maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies, developing and maintaining current procedure manuals, and working with the POC Coordinator to ensure compliance with all POC testing performed by phlebotomists. The Lead phlebotomist supervises phlebotomists and ensures that work flow is efficient.
Education REQUIRED: High School Diploma / GED
Education PREFERRED: Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology
Experience REQUIRED: 3 years of phlebotomy experience
Experience PREFERRED: 5 years of phlebotomy experience
Licenses/Certificates PREFERRED: MLT(ASCP) or equivalent certification or registration
Other required skills: Excellent time management skills, Effective communication skills, Problem solving skills, and Strong interpersonal skills
