**Caseworker / Family Support Specialist | Family & Youth Success (FAYS) Program**

* **OVERVIEW:**

Caseworker III / Family Support Specialists may provide crisis intervention, family and individual sessions, curriculum-based parent and youth skills training classes, any ancillary services and emergency care services. Caseworker III/Family Support Specialists must be trained to ensure that the needs of Family & Youth Success (FAYS) Program clients and contractual obligations are met at all times. FAYS Caseworker III/Family Support Specialist is expected to work with the family and/or youth to identify the presenting concern and subsequent concerns, identify the family and individual's strengths and use an evidenced-based program curriculum or a combination of approaches, including an evidenced-based program curriculum to explore behavior alternatives, identify steps to resolve the problem and measure progress for a minimum of thirty-five (35) minutes per session.

*Our service area for positions in this posting covers the following counties: Bowie, Camp, Cass, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Red River, Rusk, Titus, and/or Upshur*

**SALARY: $38,000 ANNUALLY**

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Delivery of evidence-based skills training services in an outpatient setting, to youth ages 0-17, and their families.

* Caseworker will provide referral, screening, intake, outreach, counseling, individual, family, and group skills-based training, development of individual action plan, advocacy training, and crisis intervention in individual, family and group settings. Adjunctive services include collaboration with other providers/agencies, outreach, and public speaking.

* Caseworker will use the following skills:

Applies and teaches effective counseling skills inclusive of those utilizing evidence-based and behavioral management techniques based upon family systems theory.

Provides screening and intake for youth admitted to residential youth shelter services, and as needed, will provide services listed above after discharge.

Participates in on-call rotation of night/week-end/holiday coverage to insure crisis intervention/shelter care is available.

Possess technical skills as described in the Core Competency Inventory, elements of job scope performed in a manner that articulates the mission, vision, and values of the organization and the program.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**

*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:*

* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (preferred in the Human Services field), or an additional year of experience working with at-risk youth and families for each year of college (30 credit hours) needed to secure a bachelor's degree.

* Must demonstrate knowledge and applied competency in use of counseling techniques and experience in the use of evidence-based and/or behavior management models.

*CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:*

* Valid ***Texas*** Driver's License

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS:**

*Physical requirements that are bona fide occupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job:*

* Mobility, ability, and stamina to sit, bend, and reach during an 8-10 hour workday.

* Able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.

* Sensory acuity sufficient to evaluate, treat, and monitor client needs and maintain accurate records.

* Fine motor skills sufficient to legibly document and communicate.

* Routine 8-10 hour shifts with weekends off. Will serve on call for one week approximately every two months.

**TRAVEL:**

* Assignments in community settings, homes, and schools only require local travel.

* Field-based assignments require travel within these counties: Bowie, Camp, Cass, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Red River, Rusk, Titus, and/or Upshur.

* Training assignments require overnight, statewide travel.
