Job scope: This position helps people achieve dignity,independence and their dreams by providing facility maintenance supportincluding maintaining, repair and evaluating the safety of facilities to meetcurrent federal, state and local standards. Works with the Organization Improvement Team to identify areas forimprovement. Performs skilled work in one or more maintenanceand building construction trades. Workinvolves maintaining and repairing buildings, utility systems, stationary equipment, and motorized equipment;requisitioning material and supplies; and keeping records. Relies on experience and judgment to planand accomplish goals. A wide degree ofcreativity and latitude is expected.
Education/licensure: Highschool diploma or equivalent. Vocational or trade school trainingpreferred. Current valid driver's license in state ofresidence.
Experience/Knowledge: 4 years' experienceof a varied nature in repair and installation. Working knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing and heating systems,sanitation, refrigeration, electric systems, and fire and safety regulations.
Physical requirements that are bona fideoccupational qualifications essential to the performance of the job: Reaching,walking, lifting, finger dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, kneeling,crouching, crawling, travel. Physicalstamina to work in inclement weather and sufficient equilibrium to work onladders, scaffolding or roofs.
