ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assesses patients, accurately obtains vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. Completes the MA Intake form and distress screening form. Accurately records information in the patients' charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• May give IM injections (vaccinations) to patients under the supervision of the Physician.
• May performs venipuncture for the collection of laboratory specimens.
• Assists RN with care coordination.
• Performs chart prep for assigned physician ensuring the providers have all documentation required for patient visit in a timely manner
• Scribing during physician visits when appropriate
• Responsible for appointment reminder calls
• This position is responsible for interacting with multiple teams where various stakeholders are involved including: oncology, radiology, prior authorization and scheduling.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

• High school diploma or equivalent - required upon hire.
• Associate's Degree in a health related filed - preferred.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:

• Current BLS - required upon hire.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification (RMA,CCMA AAMA)

OR

• Current EMT License

This position's hiring range is: $21.00 - $24.15 per hour, depending on education and experience.
