Community Interactions, Inc is Hiring a Lead Direct Support Professional for Delaware County Pennsylvania Near Swarthmore, PA

The Lead Staff - DSP position is open to all current CI Residential Staff in good standing assigned to Southeastern PA Residential Sites. Internal and external candidates are encouraged to apply for this unique position which is a combination of both administrative, staff oversight and direct support responsibilities for assigned Residential Programs.

Summary of Responsibilities:

The Lead Staff - Direct Support Professional (Lead DSP) is responsible for providing quality person-centered services for Supported Individuals. The incumbent is responsible for mentoring and supporting Individuals as well as ensuring their health, welfare and safety according to Individual Service/Support Plans. The Lead Direct Support Professional is responsible for meeting service expectations of their assigned customers and families, as well as that of funders and licensing entities, under the supervision of the Team Leader/Team Facilitator.

The position is a combination of direct support and administrative duties in 2 - 3 residential programs as designated by the assigned cluster and Senior/Team Facilitator. Administrative functions include performing financial audits, assisting in the coordination of the staff scheduling and duty assignments. Assignments include but are not limited to (based on the needs of the Individuals and Residential Site) shopping activities, facilitating on-site house meetings; completing QA's; conducting on-site orientation(s); and acting as the Med Admin Practicum Observer throughout the Cluster as needed. The essential job functions are subject to change based on the operational needs and goals of the Residential Program.

The position is responsible for providing quality person-centered services to customers. Mentors and supports Individuals; ensures their health, welfare and safety according to the Individual Service/Support Plans. Ensures that staff assigned to their Residential Cluster, meet service expectations of their assigned customers and families, as well as that of funders and licensing entities, under the supervision of the Senior/Team Facilitator. Duties include direct support, which could include lifting and other physical activity. The incumbent may also be required to perform general housekeeping, shopping, office duties, requiring the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. The ability to drive persons served from program sites to community activities is required. Responsible for traveling throughout Program Sites assigned under the Cluster.

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include:

Two (2) - four (4) years of Lead experience preferred or demonstrated ability to lead and influence the work and/or outcomes of colleagues. Ability to demonstrate strong and effective leadership skills through current or previous employment.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years’ experience working with persons diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, with developmental disabilities and/or mental health needs is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, A good driving record with no restrictions. Minimum of three (3) years driving record.
  • Ability to interpret, execute and enhance Support Plans to accomplish goals as defined by the Clinical Team through alternative methods of learning, communication and therapeutic support.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency with computers. Ability to physically assist individuals with hygiene, nutrition, and other social activities. High energy level to support clients’ activities, be able to persuade and redirect behavior if required.
  • Ability to understand and support licensed programs including regulatory compliance, and policies concerning care, treatment, and inclusion in the community. Ability to meet the physical and essential requirements of the position as outlined in the job description.
