Community Memorial Healthcare is Hiring a Clinical Nurse Manager Near Ventura, CA

Compensation

Salary Range:$123,053 - $191,713.60 per year

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Pay for PRN positions is calculated differently than Full-Time, Regular Part-Time, and Part-Time positions. PRN Rates depend on the position and other factors, including years of experience, or shift commitment according to the department policy. PRN differential is added in certain positions.

Responsibilities

Manages, supervises, and coordinates the operations of the nursing unit by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors, charge nurses and staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Selects, schedules, assigns, and evaluates staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary to meet the needs of the unit and the patients.
  • Coordinates orientation of new staff and assures that training and education needs of staff are met.
  • Coordinates unit activities and the work assignments of staff members.
  • Evaluates activities of service to ensure quality patient care, effective staff relations, and efficiency of service.
  • Directs the nursing care of the unit.
  • Observes nursing care and visits patients to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and care is delivered in accordance with physician instructions, regulations and standards of care.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Participates in the development and modifications of unit programs and services.
  • Participates in infection control, discharge planning, utilization review, case management, and quality assessment activities and analysis.
  • Develops, interprets and enforces department and institution policies.
  • Participates in the development and monitoring of unit operational budget and productivity standards.
  • Participates in appropriate department and hospital committees.
  • Directs preparation and maintenance of patients' clinical records.
  • Inspects rooms and units for safety, cleanliness and comfort.
  • Keeps informed and notifies staff of special orders/plans concerning patients or unusual cases.
  • Investigates and resolves complaints and personnel issues.
  • Collaborates with other departments and units throughout health system to provide needed services and/or care to the patient/family.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Directly supervises employees in the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)
    • Current CA Registered Nurse License
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Telemetry only)
    • Three (3) Years’ leadership experience in an acute care setting (i.e., Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, House Supervisor, etc.)

    Preferred:

    • Master’s Degree in Health Related Field
    • Three (3) Years' Nurse Manager experience in an acute care setting
