Community Music Center of Boston is Hiring a Community Music School (CMS) Coordinator Near Boston, MA
CMCB is eager to welcome a full-time Community Music School (CMS) Coordinator to the Community Music School Programs team. The Coordinator will maintain and support the internal systems related to onsite programming by gathering enrollment data, communicating with faculty, and executing special events, to name a few key responsibilities, and work in tandem with the second coordinator. This role is a great entry point for candidates with interest in the arts and education who have attention to detail, good communication skills, strong critical thinking, and a willingness to learn. Status: Full-Time Salaried (40 hours/week), Exempt Start Date: August 2024 Schedule: Hybrid, Monday - Friday, occasional evening and weekend hours with advance notice ResponsibilitiesOperations
Support current programming and the implementation of new onsite programs
Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of all Community Music School (CMS) events
Set up, operate, breakdown, and maintain inventory of events-related A/V equipment
Manage the maintenance, inventory, and repair of CMCB's instruments
Collaborate across teams to create the divisional monthly newsletter and update program offerings on the CMCB website
Maintain CMS electronic databases and resources
Support the Registrars during high volume registration periods
Coordinate with Advancement regarding instrument donations
Create registration and enrollment data reports and compile departmental data to support grant reporting
Student and Family Support
Act as the main point of contact for families interested in and applying for financial aid
Support staff in the recruitment and retention of students and families
Assist families through the entire instrument rental process
Collect and consolidate program feedback from CMS stakeholders
Escalate concerns as appropriate
Help foster a nurturing, supportive work environment for youth employees based on mentorship and skill-building
Faculty Support
Act as the main point of contact for CMS faculty
Collaborate with CMS staff in monitoring faculty attendance
Support the Finance & Operations Associate with the payroll processes.
Support the ADCMS around CMS Faculty communications
QualificationsEssential
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in administration and/or project management
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of team members
Exemplary customer service skills, especially with young people and families
A growth mindset and willingness to be open-minded and adaptable
Ability to take initiative to identify challenges and improve/optimize processes
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
Highly organized, detail oriented, and effectively prioritizes tasks to maximize workflow
Strong verbal and written communication skills; interest in culturally competent communication
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel), Google Apps, and Zoom
Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S as CMCB is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time
Preferred
Experience in the fields of school administration and/or community arts education
Fluency in Spanish and/or Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) is highly desirable
General knowledge of and/or experience in music and public school settings
Physical DemandsThe duties of this position are performed indoors in a business/office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, occasionally high, during active programming hours and minimal otherwise. While performing the duties of this job, the person in this position must be able to to remain in a stationary position 50-75% of the time. They will need to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery as well as occasionally position themselves to maintain, inspect, and operate A/V equipment, including during in person events.
