Community Options For Residential is Hiring a Director of Services Near Bismarck, ND

Join Our Team!
Community Options has an exciting opportunity within the Behavioral Health Department! We are looking for an energetic, engaging, highly motivated Director of Services for our team. This position offers room for considerable growth with the organization. As a Director of Services, you will provide leadership for direct reports. This role is responsible for all planning, organizing, training, recruiting and retention of staff, and oversight of all program activities. Salary for this position is $23-$26 depending on experience (DOE).

Minimum Qualifications:*

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services, business, or related field as defined by the hiring manager, AND two years’ experience with human service or developmental disability (DD) programs. Supervisory experience in either area is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance for the vehicle subject to the statute of the licensing state will be required based on assigned job duties
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and obtain ND Department of Human Service (DHS) pre-employment approval

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of human services and welfare programs, culture of poverty theory and evidence-based model programs
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proficient in use of computer; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong leadership and networking skills to build relationships with staff and community
  • Always maintain a professional manner with clients and in the community
  • Commitment to company values and mission
  • Ability to motivate and coach individual staff members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize duties

  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, employees are required to have the ability to climb (stairs), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach (above shoulder), bend, twist, sit, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, fine motor manipulation, talk, hear, and complete repetitive motions; swimming may be required. Must occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees may be subject to working with customers that exhibit behaviors that would require the employee to use possible physical de-escalation techniques.
  • Work Environment: Employees work in indoor and/or outdoor environments, i.e., office, home, or community setting. Employees are required to operate a motor vehicle and travel as deemed necessary. Assigned work shifts and locations will vary depending on the customers’ and/ or agency needs.
