Community Services Foundation is Hiring an Intern Near Glen Burnie, MD

Summer Youth Intern The Summer Intern will assist with all day-to-day operations for any Youth programs assigned. The Youth Program Intern will adhere to a 30 hour per week schedule and report directly to the Community Center Site Coordinator. Responsible for adhering to CSF-established guidelines and regulations. Summer Youth interns is evaluated through the completion of performance goals and the effectiveness of results achieved.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality and utilize tack and good judgment with participants to uphold community center rules and regulations.
  • Answer the phone and greet all participants in a positive and professional manner.
  • Establish a working relationship with your coworkers, participants, and parents.
  • Dress appropriately for the job assigned per company policy.
  • Greet participants in a positive manner.
  • Aid as a tutor, mentor, chaperone. Provides supervision and leadership for all activities inside and outdoors related to youth programs.
  • Maintain daily records and attendance, sign in sheets; prepare bulletin boards to reflect program activities, holidays, schoolwork, and upcoming events.
  • Submit time sheets and attend meetings on time.
  • Adheres to CSF policies and procedures.
  • Assist the community center in maintaining its enrollment capacity with all youth programs. Assist in recruiting new participants through advertisement and special events.
  • Keep an open line of communication with your supervisor acknowledging work-related issues.
  • Assist center director with strategies and activities to increase parental participation.
  • Reports all suspected abuse situations to supervisor and appropriate agency.
  • Conduct safety evacuation drills monthly.
  • Utilize good judgment with participants, residents, rental, office, investors, and community partners.
  • Assists with preparation of bulletin boards to reflect programs, holidays, upcoming programs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or 1 to 3 years experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Previous experience working with youth in a camp, after-school program, or community setting is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques.
  • Basic writing and editorial skills.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Clerical, word processing, and/or office skills.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to interact with program participants and/or staff in a team environment.

Work Environment

  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements and facilitate on-site visits to properties (10% travel estimated).
