Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a caring and dependable part-time caregiver to provide in-home care for an elderly client. This position is vital in ensuring the client’s safety, comfort, and well-being while supporting their independence and dignity. The role requires a commitment of 21 hours per week, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to make a meaningful impact on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

● Personal Care:

○ Assist with daily hygiene routines, including sponge baths, dressing, and grooming.

○ Provide bathroom assistance, ensuring safety, dignity, and thorough hygiene.

○ Manage incontinence care, including changing adult undergarments and monitoring for skin irritation.

● Mobility Support:

○ Assist the client with transfers, ambulation using a walker, and ensuring stability during movement.

○ Supervise and support physical exercises.

● Meal Preparation and Supervision:

○ Prepare and serve meals in line with the client’s dietary preferences and needs.

○ Supervise the client during meals.

● Medication Reminders:

○ Provide timely reminders for the client to take medications as per the pre-set schedule.

● Housekeeping:

○ Maintain a clean and organized living environment, including daily cleaning of the bathroom, living room, and kitchen.

○ Change bed linens and manage laundry as needed.

○ Ensure the client’s living space is clutter-free and safe.

● Emotional and Cognitive Engagement:

○ Engage the client in activities he enjoys, such as listening to music and watching favorite TV shows.

○ Provide companionship and maintain a positive, supportive atmosphere.

● Transportation:

○ Drive the client to medical appointments as needed, ensuring punctuality and safety.

Qualifications:

● Experience in caregiving, home care, or a related field is essential for this role.

● A compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.

● Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.

● Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

● Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

● Ability to pass a background check and provide professional references.

● Physical stamina to assist with transfers, ambulation, and other physically demanding tasks.

● Professionalism in maintaining confidentiality and adhering to care plans.

● Current HCA certification

● Current CPR

● Negative TB test
