Position Title: Accountant

Department: Finance

Position Overview:

The accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with relevant regulations. This role involves preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and providing support for budgeting and auditing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Management: Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments. Ensure all financial data is accurate, complete, and in compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Generate reports on financial status, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor and report on budget variances and financial performance.
  • Auditing and Compliance: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and tax laws.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and manage accounts payable and receivable transactions. Ensure timely payment of invoices and collection of receivables.
  • Tax Preparation and Filing: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations. Assist in tax planning and strategy to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Cost Control and Analysis: Monitor and analyze financial transactions to identify cost-saving opportunities. Provide recommendations for improving financial efficiency.
  • Financial Systems Management: Utilize accounting software and tools to manage financial data. Ensure the integrity and security of financial information.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
  • Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
