The Junior Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the accounting department by supporting various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, have strong analytical skills, and possess a foundational understanding of accounting principles. The Junior Staff Accountant will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage AP vouchering for goods and services vendors.

· Calculate and reconcile broker commission payments monthly, involving sales and customer deduction analysis.

· Oversee the customer invoice process, including EDI reconciliation.

· Handle reconciliation for large account deductions.

· Participate in monthly and yearly financial close processes, including the preparation of schedules for the P&L and journal entries.

· Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.

· Future participation in the annual budgeting process.

· Track and report on company expenses.

· Ensure all expenses are properly documented and authorized.

· Maintain records of fixed assets.

· Assist in the calculation and recording of depreciation.

· Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and other regulatory documents.

· Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting systems.

· Provide financial support and analysis to various teams as needed.

· Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial software systems.

Education/Experience

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software (QuickBooks or ERP systems is a plus).

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
