CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME, NON-EXEMPT (HOURLY)

REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR*

START DATE: AUGUST 5, 2024

Monroe County United Ministries (MCUM) provides high-quality, affordable early learning and promotes economic mobility for families.

MCUM is a small but impactful nonprofit dedicated to supporting Monroe County families through basic needs and economic mobility services. Our team is passionate about making a difference in both early learning for children and the development of financial freedom and independence for caregivers. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized Fundraising Coordinator to join our team and help us achieve our mission by supporting our fundraising efforts.

*This position is currently listed to be supervised by the Executive Director but will be supervised by Director-level staff in the future. There may be an opportunity for the right candidate to advance within the department or organization.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION/SCOPE OF WORK

The Fundraising Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the organization’s fundraising activities. This position involves assisting with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, managing donor relations, and supporting event coordination. It may involve writing and managing small grants, as well as a team of student interns. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and have a passion for nonprofit work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals, online fundraising, and peer-to-peer fundraising efforts.

· Prepare and distribute fundraising materials, such as letters and mailings, brochures, newsletters, and social media content.

· Maintain and update donor database, ensuring accurate and current records.

· Assist in the creation and distribution of thank-you letters, receipts, and other donor communications.

· Oversee My First Library schedule and coordination.

· Help in identifying and researching potential new donors and funding opportunities.

· Support the planning and execution of fundraising events (especially our annual Paths to Prosperity Fundraiser in February), including logistics, volunteer coordination, donations, program, and on-site event support.

· Assist in securing sponsorships and in-kind donations for events.

· Help with post-event follow-up, including thanking donors and participants.

· Assist with research and preparation of grant applications and proposals.

· Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of applications and reports.

· Provide general administrative support to the development team and other team members as needed.

· Assist in tracking and reporting fundraising metrics and outcomes.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

· Create meaningful content for monthly eNewsletter through interdepartmental collaboration.

· Social media management and content creation.

· Staff booths at outreach events, deliver presentations, provide tours as requested, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.

· Prior experience in fundraising, event planning, or related field is a plus, but not required.

· Strong written and communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, excel, powerpoint)

· Familiarity with donor management software is an advantage, but not required.

· Ability to initiate long and short-term plans and implement planning with appropriate action.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

· Passion for MCUM’s mission.

· Proven ability to communicate effectively through oral presentations, written word and graphic displays

· Ability to accomplish objectives through cooperative effort.

· Willingness to be flexible in task assignments.

SCHEDULE

This is a 35-40 hour/week position that can be scheduled based on employee needs, within the parameters of Monday-Friday 8 AM – 5:30 PM. As an hourly employee, the selected candidate will clock in and out using our ProCare time system, which can only be accessed onsite.
