Job Summary
Providence Day School in south Charlotte is looking for a strong team oriented Assistant Director of Dining Services. We are a private K-12 school serving 1,800 students and 360 faculty/staff Monday through Friday with occasional evening and weekend catering. There are two food outlets on campus, the main dining hall and a coffee shop averaging 12k and 2k revenue a day respectively. Position demands include managing the coffee shop with (2) frontline hourly staff, not limited to and including ordering, inventory, barista and cashiering. Candidate will also manage our $250,000.00/yr catering business (including some high profile events), and work with the chef and FISD on implementation and servicing all onsite catered events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food.
- Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
- Maintains excellent relationships with the client.
- Manages, trains, and develops associates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 3 years of food service management experience.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
- Proficient in Compass operating systems such as MySchoolBucks, Nutrislice, MyFinance and Webtrition
- Strong leadership and communication skills, be able to lead frontline team members by example, work directly with school leadership, and possess a relational approach to business when serving the school community.
- Financial experience and business acumen skills.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
- Associate’s degree is preferred.
