Compass Health Network is Hiring a Medical Services Supervisor Near Columbia, MO

Compensation: $25.37/hr (MA) $29.00/hr (LPN) $34.00/hr (RN)

Due to critical service need of the communities we serve, we are offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for Medical Assistants; additional $3,000 for Nurses.* We are eager to continue to provide quality and compassionate care in our service areas and need you to make this happen!

The Clinical Services Supervisor establishes and maintains effective, professional working relationships with patients and their representatives and with medical staff. The Clinical Services Supervisor upholds all guidelines set forth in the clinic, maintains strict patient confidentiality, accepts and upholds patient service and satisfaction and assists practitioners and physicians in delivering health care services. The Clinical Services Supervisor oversees daily medical service tasks associated with patient care and is the initial contact for the medical providers regarding any immediate patient care issues. In addition, the Clinical Services Supervisor supervises the Medical Assistant(s) and Phlebotomist(s).

This position is Full-time, benefit eligible and will work Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient’s histories, vital signs, and document in patient chart
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
• Perform venipunctures, urinalysis, EKGs and other procedures as directed
• Administer immunizations and other injections
• Phone in patient prescriptions and document accordingly
• Provide patient education and instruction
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization
• Assist physicians/nurse practitioners in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
• Assist with the scheduling of tests and treatments
• Screen telephone callers for appropriate referral/triage, relay messages and documents accordingly
• Maintain patients’ files, records, and other information
• Oversee that medication sample logs, patient referral logs, immunization logs and waived testing logs are consistently maintained at each clinic site
• Serve as a consultant to Medical Assistants having difficulty with a procedure by providing instruction or guidance
• Keep informed of, and communicate, any changes to Medicare, Medicaid, and any Private Insurance Carriers regarding covered services and pre-authorization processes as they relate to provision of services and quality patient care
Staff Supervision
• Supervise Medical Assistants at their clinic
• Assure adequate staffing patterns to meet needs of the clinic
• Recruit, select and orient new personnel with department directors as needed
• Disseminate information regarding policies and procedures to Medical Assistants
• Perform performance evaluations for direct reports
• Provide back up to staff as needed
• Ensure staff provides culturally competent services to meet the unique cultural needs of each patient

Other Responsibilities
• Adhere to standard precautions, as appropriate, i.e., use protective barriers, handle and dispose infectious waste appropriately, proper hand washing
• Follow CLIA and OSHA regulations
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of unit facilities and equipment
• Monitor supply of medical stock, medical supplies, and laboratory needs or order supplies when necessary.
• Meet standards of professional ethical conduct
• Ensures staff are performing duties consistent with NCQA standards and agency policies
• Provide the Medical Services Manager with reports and training needs of medical assistant staff at each clinic site
• Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

• Oversees day-to-day operations and tasks of supervisees
• Completes performance development/AIM process
• Time card management – manages time sheets

WORKING CONDITIONS & EXPOSURE RISK

• Regular exposure to blood and/or body fluids
• Regular exposure to radiation sources
• Regular exposure to biohazard waste materials
• Operating vehicles or machinery

• High School/GED required
• Associate’s degree preferred

• Equivalent work experience required if associate’s degree is not obtained
• At least six (6) years work experience in a medical office or hospital setting with direct patient care preferred
• Knowledge of medical office terminology, procedures and equipment required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Medical Assistant Certification or LPN preferred
