Compass Health Network is Hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Crisis Stabilization Center Near Rolla, MO

This is a PRN position, requiring availability to work as needed on all shifts and days.
As a Nurse at our Crisis Center Stabilization Center, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in a psychiatric capacity, maintaining standards of Professional Nursing Practice. You will participate as an interdisciplinary team member responsible for the overall coordination of care and services delivered to individuals experiencing behavioral crises. Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to provide patient and family education.
Responsibilities
  • Perform nursing care such as health assessments, pain assessments, vital signs, applying dressings, and general daily care of individuals presenting at the Crisis Stabilization Center
  • Administer medications, including medication pass, injections, and observing self-administration
  • Manage medications, including completing the MAR, updating the MAR, and counting controlled substances
  • Provide patient education regarding physical health and medications
  • Coordinate care with staff, residents, family, physicians, psychiatrists, hospitals, and pharmacies
  • Report and record observable changes in individuals’ behavior, attitude, and physical condition
  • Assist staff with various diagnostic and treatment procedures
  • Educate new employees on procedures and protocols
  • Participate in team and leadership meetings as assigned
  • Utilize effective verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate cognitive, organizational, and emotional abilities to manage multiple stressors, deadlines, and difficult situations
  • Provide direct patient care to adults, including those who may be verbally or physically agitated
  • Participate in mandatory overtime as needed
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • At least one year of psychiatric experience; experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
  • Valid LPN or RN licensure in MO required
