Job DescriptionCompass Healthcare Consulting & Placement is conducting a search for an experienced Executive level Registered Nurse for a Director of Patient Services, DPS position for Certified Home Health Care Agency in Brooklyn, NY. Qualified Candidates will have an active NYS RN, minimum of 3 years RN Director level experience within a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA), will be proficient with CMS Regulations, Medicare Reimbursement, OASIS Documentation and all state and federal compliance for a CHHA services. Additional RN experience within Infusion, Hospice/Palliative Care and other Home Care Programs, preferred.
The RN Director (DPS) has overall responsibility for the planning, interpretation and delivery of patient care services within the framework of the company's Mission and Strategic Plan. Ensures that services are provided within company, governmental and accrediting body requirements. Areas of responsibility include clinical policy formulation and implementation, staffing and resource allocation, establishing goals and systems to provide high quality, safe and effective care. Reports and interacts with the Leadership team on a regular basis on all issues relating to the Clinical Department.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct and coordinate the clinical operations of the Company, inclusive of all quality improvement activities, care delivery and compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation.
  • Develop and maintain Best Practice standards to ensure safe, high quality, cost effective delivery of care to patients. Conduct performance evaluations as per company policy.
  • Promote continuing professional education of clinical staff and ensure staff maintain current knowledge and competence in managing patient care.
  • Interpret, implement and monitor company compliance with local, state and federal government standards and regulations and CHAP standards of excellence.
  • Formulate, interpret and transmit clinical policies and procedures to all levels of company personnel.
  • Assume a leadership role in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of company services and resources to ensure the proper delivery of patient care that meets community and patient needs.
  • Support continuity of clinical operations by facilitating leadership development and overall responsibility for the team / department performance with the clinical managers.
  • Participates in the development of the Company’s business plan, annual budgets, and operating procedures.
  • Proactively generate / review management reports to measure clinical department compliance with Organizational Policy and Procedures and recommend / implement action plans to resolve operational problems and improve departmental functions.
  • Conduct statistical review/analyses, as indicated.
  • Communicate with members of the leadership team regarding retrospective and concurrent information needs.
  • Participates in collective bargaining negotiations and grievance procedures as required.
  • Overall responsibility for the quality and timeliness of clinical documentation to support appropriate reimbursement for services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of requirements for the Company to meet accreditation standards.
  • Directs the supervision of all employees in Clinical Departments in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures and applicable laws.
  • Oversight for acquiring competent clinical personnel, assuring placement of staff with appropriate qualifications and responsibilities as defined in the CMS Conditions of Participation.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance: rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and problem solving.
Qualifications:
  • License and current registration to practice in the State of New York as a Registered Nurse.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Business Administration or other health-related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Director level Public Health Nurse in a Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) or Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP), Infusion Program, or Hospice & Palliative Care Program
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of Medicare CMS and Medicaid reimbursement regulations as well as a thorough knowledge of third party reimbursement and entitlements for home care.
  • Comprehensive understanding of OASIS Documentation and Reimbursement
  • Able to work in close contact with the leadership team, management staff, department staff, and community.
Competitive Salary $250,000 to $275,000 plus excellent benefits!
