Medical Office Receptionist
Physical Rehabilitation practice in East Lansing is looking for a full-time receptionist to join our team. The Receptionist assures the smooth operation of the practice by obtaining all necessary information to facilitate timely patient scheduling and billing. >1 Yr Medical Office Experience Required. Candidate maintains positive patient relations and represents the practice in a professional, friendly and patient-focused manner by performing the following duties:
·Checks patients in for appointments, obtains and verifies all necessary insurance and patient demographic information.
·Collects patient co-payments and outstanding balance as needed.
·Scans driver’s license, insurance cards and patient forms into the electronic health record.
·Conducts appointment confirmation calls.
·Posts appointment cancellation and no-show fees to electronic health record.
·Maintains electronic fax server and transfers medical information appropriately into medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
·Monitors and addresses voicemail in a timely manner.
·Accepts incoming telephone calls in a professional, friendly and patient-focused manner by assessing the needs of the caller and directs the call based upon those needs.
·Treats patients with respect and responds to their needs in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner.
·Works respectfully and cooperatively with management, co-workers, patients and vendors.
·Follows all HIPAA standards and procedures as set forth in the HIPAA Compliance Manual.
·Follows all standards and procedures set forth in the Safety Handbook.
·Performs any other duties as assigned.
