Health and Safety Consultant

Responsibilities

  • Lead health and safety initiatives, including oversight of OSHA compliance, ISO 45001/OSHA VPP audits, risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, machine guarding assessments, HazWoper training, and overall safety programs.
  • Deliver expert health and safety services by developing procedures, conducting comprehensive training, performing thorough risk assessments, and preparing clear and concise reports.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of company policies related to time tracking and expense reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge by actively participating in professional associations, reviewing relevant literature, networking, and delivering presentations.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of direct experience in safety-related roles.
  • Proven experience as a safety trainer and consultant.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dedicated to ongoing professional development in health and safety.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Adaptable and capable of working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Strong customer service orientation with effective relationship-building skills.

Education and Education and Credentials:

  • OSHA 30 General Industry certification obtained within the last 5 years
  • OSHA 501 highly preferred
  • Credentialing from Board Certified Safety Professionals (CSP, ASP, OHST, SMS)
  • Degree in a safety-related field highly preferred
  • First Aid CPR AED certification required | Trainer strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
  • Ability to stoop, crawl and bend
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs
  • Ability to drive for extended periods of time

Other Requirements:

  • Background check and potential drug screening required for the position
  • Overtime and flexible working hours may be necessary based on project demands
  • Residence within a reasonable commuting distance
