CompostNow is Hiring a Sales Representative (Composting Program Specialist) Near Raleigh, NC

This is a remote position.
About UsCompostNow is one of the fastest growing hauling and composting companies in the USA, offering full closed-loop solutions for organic residuals diversion ("composting") programs including certified compostable packaging, consultation, education as well as hauling and composting. CompostNow currently operates in North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, and Ohio.
Our vision is to close the loop on food waste by empowering community members and local businesses to divert their compostables from the landfill and, instead, use those nutrients to build nutrient-rich soil. Closing the loop on food waste is imperative in building healthy soil, creating resilient, local food systems, and fighting climate change.

Job DescriptionThe main objective of the Sales Representative is to successfully acquire new commercial members by understanding their business needs/goals and providing composting solutions that add value to their business. Generally, the Composting Program Specialist is the first human touch point that an organization has with CompostNow. As such, they play an important role in helping prospective members start their composting journey.
As a Sales Representative, you’ll be a key contributor to the growth of the company by ensuring that we get businesses and organizations set up with impactful, and successful, composting programs that align with their overall business objectives.
What you’ll do:
  • Follow up on leads generated from CompostNow’s website and other inbound lead sources
  • Participate in lead generation activities to grow our lead pipeline
  • Conduct consultation meetings to understand the business’ needs and build a composting program tailored to the business while aligning with their business and sustainability objectives
  • Answer potential members' questions and send additional information via email and phone
  • Manage your leads, opportunities, contacts, and business information in Salesforce and ensure details are accurate and up to date
  • Understand and communicate our composting program features accurately and effectively
  • Research and qualify new leads
  • Contribute to the overall Sales Department goals and objectives
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Identify and assist in the implementation of sales process improvements
  • Identify and assist in the development of sales resources that grow our membership
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies within sales territory.
  • Assist in account management by supporting key accounts
  • Assist in data quality related issues such as CRM customer clean-up / de-duping.
  • Participate in projects that enhance the sales experience and contributes to the department’s goals
Requirements
  • Based in the Triangle, NC or Atlanta, GA
  • A desire to develop as a sales professional.
  • Experience with CRM systems. Salesforce is a plus.
  • Comfortable building external relationships in sales situations
  • Detail oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask and react quickly to changing conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever changing environment.
  • Committed to communicating regularly and constructively with team members.

  • Entrepreneurial-minded, eager to work hard, bring energy and enthusiasm daily, and continually develop their sales skills
