CompostNow is looking for an energetic self-starter to take on a specialty role within our newest market, Cincinnati. This hybrid position includes both onsite operations and sprinter driver duties. If you are a big-picture thinker, enjoy cross-training, and believe that variety is the spice of life - this position may be for you! 

This role is open to both full time and part time schedules (full time team members qualify for health coverage, time off, and other benefits after successfully completing a 90 Day introductory period).

Position Responsibilities

• Safe operation of Sprinter Van while navigating collection routes

• Collection of 4 gallon containers filled with food scraps, and simultaneous delivery of a clean, empty container 

• Doorstep service of single and multi-family residential locations

• High intensity pace and motion

• Emptying containers filled with food scraps

• Sorting through containers to remove contamination (i.e. anything that can’t be composted)

• Thoroughly clean all containers (i.e. washing, soaping, rinsing), readying them to be returned to our members 

• Preparing finished compost (soil) for delivery back to members

• Cleaning work vehicles (interior and exterior) when needed

• Maintaining a neat and tidy work environment for storage of operations materials

Pay starts at $20/hr, and exceptional performers are eligible for a 5% raise after 1-year.

Requirements

• Clean driving record and comfortable maneuvering large vehicle

• Early riser: Willing to start your day by 8AM

• Value and enjoy being physically active and in motion throughout the work day 

• Not squeamish: can be around food scraps and smell of decomposition throughout the day

• Strong commitment to safety of self and others

• Love of exceptional customer service, and a natural sense of hustle

• Strong desire to work with your head AND your hands

• Willing and able to work outdoors in all elements (rain, heat, cold, etc.)

• Able to take direction and learn quickly to complete tasks

• Enjoys the challenge of perfecting daily processes

• Self-motivated worker, proactive in identifying and taking ownership of work needing to be completed

• Detail oriented, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask and react quickly to changing conditions; takes pride in a good day’s work and contributing to a team environment

• Committed to communicating regularly and constructively with team members

• Experience driving commercial vehicles or work vans is a plus
