Comprehensive Blood & Cancer Center is Hiring a CT Tech- Per Diem Near Bakersfield, CA

Description

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to the experience and education that are required by federal, State, and Local guidelines. The minimum requirements for experience and education are:

  • License in California
  • Certification RT (CT) and ARRT
  • Experience 2 years, will consider less for the right candidate
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to provide two current acceptable and verifiable professional references
  • Venipuncture

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment screening (background check, drug tests, and references)

PHYSICAL STANDARDS:

Positions in this class are situated in a standard clinical environment where there is little or no exposure to variations in the weather or other similar elements. Physical agility must be such that the CT Tech is able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. This position has direct patient contact and calls for the ability to assist frail patients in rising, walking, sitting, and lying down, etc., frequently throughout the course of the shift. The CT Tech should be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly and 65 pounds intermittently. There is potential exposure to blood, body fluid/tissue, and infectious wastes. There is also potential exposure to radiation, chemicals, and toxicants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide accurate information and explanation to patients

· Stock room with all necessary supplies to provide adequate scans

· Properly send all images to the PACs system

· Perform CT procedures in accordance with the set policies

· Documentation of information on standard forms

· Maintain patient confidentiality

· Ensures equipment is in working order

· Coordinates workflow

· Address any issues or policy and procedure-related issues that arise from physicians, staff, radiologists, or other personnel that are related to the CT department

· Communicates well with patients, peers, physicians, and suppliers

· Maintains reasonable and predictable attendance

· Performs related duties as required

  • PPO Dental Insurance
    • Company pays up to 50% for employees only. Employees may add dependents at employees expense.
    • Eligible 1st of the month, following 60 days of employment.
  • Company paid Life Insurance in the amount of $50,000, eligible 1st of the month, following 60 days of employment.
  • Paid Sick Leave after 30 days of work within a calendar year. At the accrual rate of 1 hour of Paid Sick Leave per 30 hours worked. Paid Sick Leave may be used beginning 1st of the month, following 60 days of employment, up to 40 hrs or 5 work days (whichever is higher) per calendar year.
  • Paid Vacation accruing at 3.70 hours per bi-weekly pay period, eligible 1st of the month, following 60 days of employment.
  • 8 paid holidays per year. Holidays observed include New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Eligible 1st of the month, following 60 days of employment.
  • One Birthday holiday to be used each year during the week of your birthday. Eligible after completing one year of continuous employment. 
  • 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan: After 6 months of employment eligible employees, 21 years of age and older, are automatically enrolled unless otherwise specified by the employee. 
  • 30, 60, and 90-day performance appraisals are given for new hires. Annual performance appraisals are given in January of each year for employees who have passed their 90-day introductory period.
  • Complimentary lunch, Monday-Friday at our on-site Health and Wellness Café.
  • On-site fitness center.

Salary Range: 

$50.00 - $60.00 an hour
