Comprehensive Energy Services, Inc is Hiring a Project Manager Near Longwood, FL

Summary

Comprehensive Energy Services, Inc. (CES) is an award-winning, self-performing provider and recognized leader in Design Build, Mechanical Contracting and Plumbing. CES provides a full range of advanced HVAC commercial, healthcare and industrial services, including mechanical engineering design, mechanical construction, plumbing, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), preventative maintenance, system maintenance, repairs and replacement.

The Project Manager (PM) reports to the Senior Project Manager and is responsible for providing overall management direction for multiple projects at any given time. The PM will need to be proficient in all construction methodologies and procedures, also must be able to coordinate a team of professionals with different disciplines, in order to achieve the best results.

Essential Duties

  • Plan, organize, control, and coordinate all aspects of the project
  • Schedule jobs based on the known or expected complexity of the perceived work against the capabilities of available trade workers and the planned or promised completion deadline
  • Manage the financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the company's best interest, while simultaneously maintaining a good relationship with the customer
  • Participate in contract negotiations with customer
  • Plan, organize and staff field positions in concert with Senior Project Manager, General Foreman and other Project Managers
  • Manage equipment, special tools, vehicles and all needs of the project
  • Monitor and control construction development through administrative direction of General Foreman and/or on-site Foreman to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures
  • Manage and lead the on-site efforts of employees and subcontractors in accordance with contractual terms and conditions
  • Train employees on proper installation procedures and practices
  • Lead by example and educate employees on the CES customer satisfaction, guaranteed philosophy
  • Manage the necessary administrative records and controls to protect the interests of the company and the customer to include prompt and accurate invoicing
  • Prepare front-end loaded billing schedule of values to maximize cash flow
  • Review monthly Work-In-Progress reports and accurately forecast cost to complete for all cost codes
  • Prepare pay requisitions, review completion percentages with the customer in a timely manner
  • Prepare and provide submittals per job requirements to Foreman
  • Provide a clear written scope of work for each project to the Foreman
  • Provide close-out documents per contract requirements to General Contractor
  • Resolve customer concerns in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner
  • Work with vendors on pricing, performance, reliability, and availability
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for CES employees that are being managed and are involved with designated project
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of the company policy
  • Initiate and maintain strong relationships with primary contacts to facilitate construction activities
  • Represent CES in project meetings; assist in labor management/strategy meetings, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team and provide assistance with collection challenges
  • In conjunction with the Senior, Project Manager, provide assistance to other departments, so as to help support the company goals, mission and vision
  • Perform management level duties and assuming additional responsibilities as directed by the Senior, Project Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Project Engineer
  • Project Coordinator

Experience

  • Ten or more years of combined practical and academic experience in the full range of HVACR, Mechanical & Plumbing sub-fields
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience with extensive knowledge of construction, finance, and management
  • QuickPen; Building Information Modeling Software experience, preferred

Education

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Four (4) year engineering degree or equivalent

  • Ability to successfully direct and coordinate the job requirements with the customers, employees, outside suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Ability to negotiate orders with vendors to ensure prompt and timely delivery at the lowest possible price
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to work equally well with customers, employees, support team members, and the general public
  • Ability to visit employees at the actual job-site, e.g. rooftops, crawl spaces, refrigeration rooms, confined spaces, etc.
  • Ability to recognize, estimate, and obtain acceptance of change orders
  • Ability to comprehend and implement applicable related federal, state, and local government laws, codes, and regulations
  • Ability to represent CES at industry related social activities

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid Florida Driver's License is required
  • Incumbent must be insurable at all times by CES insurance carrier
  • OSHA 30 training required / OSHA 500 Preferred but not required
