What are we looking for in a Program Manager?
The Program Manager position combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities to serve as leader of the First Responder & Field Response team, which provides intervention and support to individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis. The clinical portion of the role includes responding to requests for crisis services and traveling out in the community to provide crisis assessments, determine what level of treatment is needed to stabilize the situation, and make arrangements for hospital placements or outpatient treatment as appropriate. The administrative portion of the role requires coordinating all responses to requests for support received from first responders and 911 or 988 to ensure effective, efficient outreach and follow-up to all individuals. In addition, the Program Manager provides direction, guidance, and feedback to each member of the team, including providing clinical supervision and additional training when appropriate. Other administrative responsibilities include tracking client outcomes, monitoring access to care, coordinating staff schedules, ensuring the completion of clinical documentation, and implementing quality improvement measures. This role requires a confident clinician who can provide feedback and motivate others, while also exercising excellent clinical judgment and effective communication skills. Previous supervisory experience and experience providing crisis services are helpful for this role. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, but additional evening or weekend hours may sometimes be necessary for emergency coverage.
Program Manager duties may include:
  • managing staff levels, work assignments, and program processes to ensure efficient treatment delivery
  • supervising assigned team staff, which includes assessing clinical skills, giving constructive feedback, and providing additional training & development
  • receiving calls for crisis services from individuals, law enforcement, emergency responders, and medical facilities and responding in the community to assess individuals for safety and gather information
  • determining the least restrictive environment for crisis resolution and stabilization for the client and arranging client placements for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization or detox services, when necessary
  • communicating with Comprehensive treatment teams about clients who have had crisis contact and participating in safety planning
  • completing extensive clinical & legal documentation for each call taken during the workday
  • ensuring the delivery of appropriate, clinically effective, and culturally-competent services across the program
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field
  • Two years of experience providing behavioral health treatment preferred
  • Must be eligible for MHP and DCR designations
  • Must be eligible for Agency Affiliated Counselor registration
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle liability insurance, and two years of safe driving experience
