Job Title: Bursar

Summary: The Bursar role will assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately.

Responsibilities:

-Prepares, posts, verifies, and records student payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.

-Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to students.

-Maintains and updates student files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.

-Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.

-Creates reports regarding the current status of student accounts as requested.

-Researches student discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff.

-Collaborates with the Collections Manager to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis.

-Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.

-Assists Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts each month.

-Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.

-Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.

-Ensures revenue projections & calculations are created correctly & Controls bad debt.

-Keeps record of the company’s 90/10 report & Performs other related duties as assigned.

-1 years of related experience with a proven track record of success

-Excellent communication skills

-Relates well with others, ability to build great rapports

-Requires persistence combined with a positive attitude and approach to work and other

-Ability to work well in a fast paced, results driven environment

-Dynamic, outgoing and positive with a strong focus on exceptional student service

-Must be proficient in basic computer skills & Self-motivating work style

-Strong organizational and time management skills

-Flexible work schedule to include nights, rotated weekend schedule
