SAP PP-APO Specialist will be responsible for the design, implementation and production support of the SAP Production Planning and Advanced Planning (SCM) modules supporting GATP, production reporting, PPDS demand planning and supply scheduling in the Ascend SAP environment. The position will work with business partners to design, implement, and maintain global solutions using standard SAP as well as other systems interfaced with SAP to support the business processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong combination of analytical and technical skills and will include working in a project lead role on small to medium-sized projects.

• Develop trusted partnership with the supply chain, production planning, and manufacturing organization leadership and resources
• Provide support for designated SAP Modules within SLA guidelines (or better)
• Contribute to a successful transition to a new COE via knowledge transfer work sessions
• Participate in scoping and planning sessions for current year entitlement projects

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide expertise in SAP Production Planning (PP) related to:
• Configuration of all aspects of PP for new roll outs
• Support existing configuration of PP for all manufacturing plants
• In house production: receipts, consumption, transfers, etc.
• Use of Recipes/Bill of Materials
• Integration to MES systems
• Provide expertise in PPDS
• Detailed scheduling and process order scheduling
• Scheduling of orders on assets
• Co product/By product
• Drag and drop on extruders
• Provide expertise in SAP APO Demand & Supply Planning
• Production batches
• APO planning board
• Asset capacity planning
• Facilitation of thoughtful design discussions to meet business needs using best practices and SAP product capabilities.
• Independently gather business requirements, design technical solution, and configure/implement solutions, either alone or by coordinating with other IT and business resources
• Create detailed design documents and functional specifications in order to facilitate business approval and sign off of the proposed system changes
• Consult with ABAP developers and provide technical specifications to develop RICEF solutions
• Manage unit testing of changes in development and testing environments, including regression testing of functionality that may be impacted by new changes
• Provide ad hoc training and consulting to business users as required
• Provide support for other activities that impact the system, such as configuration changes to support changing business conditions, SAP ECC upgrades, projects, etc.
• Proactively addresses continuous improvement requests and drives them to completion
• Consistently demonstrate initiative to acquire and utilize new technical skills within job function
• Consistently achieve target dates for assigned tasks aiding in on budget delivery of the project
• Maintain system reliability as defined by service level agreements
• Successful delivery of IT enhancements and project demands with anticipated results
• Use Ascend project management practices and tools to provide tracking information
• Utilization of Ascend methodology to ensures development lifecycle and controls processes are followed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or other related area.
• Minimum of 8 years experience in SAP with experience in a functional consultant role with at least 3 global implementations.
• Demonstrated expertise in SAP PP and SCM with analysis and design of business applications.
• Additional experience in SAP IBP, MM, and PM are a plus
• Understanding of integration to other SAP modules: SD, MM, FI, PA, IBP
• Knowledge and experience with ABAP programming is a strong plus
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to relate technical ideas and functionality to non-technical users
• Self-motivated work ethic, keen attention to detail and exceptional customer service orientation.
• Strong analytical skills; ability to perform complex system analysis and draw conclusions by relating information from different sources, including root-cause analysis and issue resolution.
