Job SummaryWe are seeking a Cook 1 - Service Assistant I to join our Production Team in a healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with hospital standards and dietary requirements, ensuring that patients, staff, and visitors receive high-quality food service.
This position involves working closely with kitchen staff to support daily food preparation, meal service, and sanitation duties.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation: Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes, hospital dietary guidelines, and food safety standards.
Service Support: Participate in the distribution of meals to patients, hospital staff, and visitors, ensuring timely and efficient service.
Sanitation & Safety: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including workstations, equipment, and tools.
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
Inventory & Stock Management: Assist in the management of kitchen supplies and food inventory.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors.
Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate meal production, meet daily service goals, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Compliance: Follow all hospital, Sodexo, and department-specific policies, including compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
RequirementsExperienceSkillsAbility to prepare and cook a variety of meals, following recipes and dietary guidelines.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle kitchen equipment.
CertificationsFood safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are a plus.
Education: High School
