ACTUAL JOB TITLE: Credentialing Specialist – Eyecare Operations

Requisition Details

  • Number of positions needed: 2
  • Work hours: 40 per week
  • Location: Onsite - NY - hybrid (2 days in office, preferably Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but negotiable)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: Up to 6 months (Temp only, but could be temp to hire)

Specific Skills Needed:

Top 3 mandatory and/or minimum requirements:

  1. Credentialing Management: Assist with managing the credentialing process and partner with doctors to ensure all paperwork is complete, accurate, and accounted for, including insurance applications and internal paperwork for either employed or sublease doctors.
  2. Data Sourcing and Accuracy: Source information from various internal databases to complete as many of the business applications as possible. Identify missing or inaccurate data, research the best solution, confirm accuracy, and update all applicable databases with relevant information for credentialing and insurance contracting.
  3. Issue Resolution and Program Enhancement: Assist in uncovering and resolving doctor credentialing questions and/or issues and recommend and create program enhancements to improve the doctor’s experience.

  1. Healthcare Credentialing Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in healthcare with a focus on credentialing operations.
  2. Industry Knowledge: A clear understanding and ongoing knowledge of changes in the Managed Vision Care industry, including credentialing, eligibility checking, claims filing, and payment receipt.
  3. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.

Additional Job Details:

Reason for request:

  • Immediate need for assistance in credentialing due to the addition of new insurance plans that require credentialing of doctors.

Work Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Education: Relevant educational background in healthcare or related fields preferred.

Required Experience:

  • Years of Experience: 1-3 years in a healthcare credentialing role.
  • Flexibility: Discuss whether there is flexibility in the required years of experience.

Reason for Request:

  • Immediate need for assistance in credentialing.
  • Company has taken on additional insurance plans requiring the credentialing of doctors.
  • This temporary labor is needed to manage the increased workload and ensure timely processing of credentialing applications, which cannot be handled by existing internal resources due to current capacity constraints.
