Job Title: Senior Data Migration and BI Specialist

Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Data Migration and BI Specialist to lead our migration efforts from Hadoop (CDP) to Microsoft Azure and Power BI. This role involves managing the transition of significant data assets, building scalable data pipelines, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our new data environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Migration: Lead the migration of 800 base tables, 1200 dashboards, and 250 users from Hadoop and Logi Composer to Microsoft Azure and Power BI.
• Data Validation: Migrate/Create new tables, and perform data validation using SQL to ensure architecture, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Data Analysis: Analyze and resolve data issues, collaborate with business partners to understand and address data use cases.
• Pipeline Development: Design and build scalable data pipelines using modern tools and technologies.
• Power BI Development: Create Power BI data universes and dashboards, ensuring a seamless transition from Logi dashboards.
• Governance and Training: Establish dashboarding governance for Power BI, educate users, and support change management and user validation.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5 years of IT Analyst/BI experience in data warehousing, database build-out, and dashboarding.
• SQL Expertise: 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL across various databases (Oracle, Synapse, Cosmos, Postgres, etc.).
• Power BI: 5 years of experience with Power BI, including universe creation, dashboard management, and user training.
• Microsoft Azure: 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure, including table creation and deployment.
• Big Data Tools: Experience with Hadoop (CDP), Spark, Impala, Kafka, and designing ETL data pipelines.
• Technical Skills: Comfort with Unix command line, data modeling, and data management. Experience with Java, Python, or Scala is preferred.
• Additional Skills: Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g., Control-M) and other BI tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus.
