Job Title: Nanostructure Analysis Technician - SEM/FIB/TEM/STEM
Location: Albany, NY
Shift: Compressed Work Week Night Shift (7pm - 7am or 12am - 12pm), including weekends
Responsibilities:
- Sample Preparation and Analysis:
- Collect, prepare, and document nanostructures related to semiconductor devices.
- Manage sample queues and cleaving/analysis instructions from Process Engineering staff.
- Prepare lamellae using Focused Ion Beam (FIB) tools; handle samples using tweezers and other tools.
- Prepare samples for FIB stubs, transfer grids to sample holders, and conduct imaging using SEM, TEM, STEM.
- Collect compositional data using Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) and Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy (EELS).
- Communicate imaging and compositional results effectively to Engineering staff.
- Technique Development:
- Develop and optimize sample preparation and analysis techniques.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in SEM and FIB operations.
- Training and Documentation:
- Train new users on sample preparation and analysis equipment.
- Update and maintain training and certification documents for sample preparation and analysis equipment.
- FAB Operations:
- Possible involvement in FAB operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Physical Science or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with SEM, FIB, TEM, and/or STEM is required.
- Hitachi SEM experience preferred.
- Proficiency in handling small samples (less than 5mm) using tweezers and other tools.
- Previous experience working in a FAB environment is desired.
- Must have the unrestricted right to work in the USA.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfort with manipulating small samples and tools (e.g., tweezers, screwdriver, scribe) under a microscope.
- Ability to work night shifts (7pm - 7am or 12am - 12pm) and weekends.
Job Type: Temp-to-hire
Pay: $24.00 - $26.41 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Experience:
- SEM Process / FIB Process: 2 years (Preferred)
- Nanostructure Analysis: 2 years (Preferred)
