CEI's Fortune 30, global media & technology client is hiring a Construction Quality Control specialist to oversee multiple Cable Construction Projects throughout Connecticut!

We're targeting professionals with experience identifying issues on construction sites regarding coax & fiber cabling, (CATV, overhead/underground, OSP/ISP, Cell Towers, 5G upgrades, etc.) Any experience using Smartsheet or Salesforce for project workflow management is beneficial.

Job at a Glance:

  • Long-term contract, funded through 2024 and planned for 2025 extension and/or permanent placement.
  • $30 - $35/hr W2 optional benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, and sick time)
  • Position is onsite 5 days/week. Home office is based in Danbury, CT and will make day trips to local job sites
  • *Candidates must be local to Danbury, CT with reliable transportation (for site visits). Will use your own vehicle for traveling between work sites but mileage will be reimbursed at GSA rate of $.67/mile*

Job Description:

  • Ensures the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as: placing hard-line cables, frame and strand poles, transfer facilities between poles, place cable in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and cable trailers. *Not responsible for any physical labor.*
  • Investigates and monitors accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
  • Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
  • Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
  • Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
  • Reviews, resolves, follows-up customer request and complaints.
  • Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function.
  • Sets priorities for the team. Assigns tasks and checks work at regular intervals.
  • Responsible for ensuring all work performed on the project meets or exceeds client, Local, State or Federal standards and regulations.
  • Updating the JT or Polaris entry (Salesforce) QC for path verification.
  • Primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and in turn acts as the NGAN liaison with the Regional Network Technicians.
  • New or upgraded power supply in place and operational (in continuity) prior to cut date.
  • Overall responsibility of the quality of the NGAN product: from the contractor building and to the operations we hand off to.
  • It is expected that this role will be in the field up to 70% of every workday.

Skills:

  • Must be local to Danbury, CT with reliable transportation (mileage is reimbursed at 67 cents per mile for site visits).
  • Experience troubleshooting coax/fiber cut overs or splicing or identifying issues on construction sites regarding coax and fiber cabling is required.
  • Experience coordinating or contributing to IT/Telecom cable construction projects or Field Technician experience (experience troubleshooting plants, identifying issues seen in the field with Coax/Fiber cabling, CATV, overhead/underground, OSP, Cell Towers, Coax/Cable, 5G upgrades, etc.).
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel & Smartsheet is desired.
  • Ability to read Outside Plant (OSP) prints/maps is nice to have.
  • Any experience using Salesforce for project workflow management is nice to have.
